About
About the artist
I was born in Marghita, a small town in the western part of Transylvania (Romania), in 1981. As an artist I am self taught. After finishing my studies in Business Management at the University of Cluj-Napoca, I moved to The Netherlands in March of 2004, presently as a full-time artist. Besides painting and drawing, I also enjoy industrial, interior and web design.
My workplace currently resides at my home within an industrial terrain called “Lemsterhoek” in the town of Lemmer. Within approximately two months, I will be showcasing my works from my home as well.
Many of my artworks have both a realistic and surrealistic accent. In my most recent, freely made artworks, I present emotions in surrealistic surroundings. Feminine figures are an important source of inspiration for my work and therefore are subjects that maintain a running theme in many of my paintings, often being realistically depicted, yet caught in a mystical sphere or unrealistic situation. Many details and certain portions of my artworks are derived from photos.
The materials and techniques I use may vary depending on the theme of my work or the message I’m attempting to convey. In many of my artworks I prefer airbrush as a basic technique, simply because it tends to be well suited for creating a vividly, realistic picture. Other techniques that I make great use of are acrylic paint, pencil, watercolor pencil, oil paint and charcoal.
